COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION

DEODORANT, GENERAL PURPOSE

(GEL IN PLASTIC DISPENSER)

The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commercial item description.

Salient characteristics:

The product shall be a plastic dispenser containing an odor counteractant in a gel matrix. The net weight of the contents of the plastic dispenser shall be at least 5 ounces.

The product shall not contain for maldehyde or odor blocks which deaden the sense of smell.

The product shall contain ingredients which counteractant malodors by a mechanism other than or in addition to simple masking.

When used as directed, the product shall eliminate the odors from stale cigarette and cigar smoke, urine fecal matter, vomit, food spillage, garbage, cooked foods and perspiration.

Certification. The contractor shall certify that the product offered meets the salient characteristics of this description, and that the product conforms to the producer’s own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices and is the same product offered for sale in the commercial marketplace. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract.

Packaging, packing, and marking. Packaging, packing and marking shall be as specified in the contract or order.
