COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION DISINFECTANT-DETERGENT, GENERAL PURPOSE
(PHENOLIC TYPE)
The General Service Administration has authorized the use of this commercial item description for all federal agencies.
1. SCOPE. This commercial item description (CID) covers phenolic type disinfectant-detergent. The disinfectant-detergent described herein is intended for use as a general purpose cleaner and disinfectant for hard surfaces such as walls, floors, woodwork and metal furniture in hospitals and public buildings.
2. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS.
2.1 Disinfectant. The phenolic type disinfectant-detergent, when used as directed on the label in a use-dilution solution, prepared with hard water containing a minimum of 400 parts per million (ppm) hardness (as calcium carbonate) and 5% (v/v) sterile bovine serum albumin (BSA), shall be:

Tuberculocidal against Mycobacterium tuberculosis var. Bovis (BCG) Fungicidal against Trichophyton mentagrophytes (ATCC No. 9533)
