COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
DEODORANT, CHEMICAL FOR HOLDING TANKS AND RECIRCULATING TOILETS
This commercial item description shall be used in lieu of Military Specification MIL-D-83790.
Intended use.
This commercial item description covers two types of deodorant products employed in Chemical Holding Tanks and Recirculating Toilets.
Applicable Documents. The following publications form a part of this specification to the extent specified herein. The latest issue in effect on date of invitation to bid or request for proposal shall apply.

AMS 1476- Deodorant, Aircraft Toilet
Classifications.
Type I- Dry
Size A- 8 Gm. (+ 0.4, -0.1 Gm.)
Size B- 2 Oz. (+ 0.5, -0.4 Gm.)
Size C- 9 Oz. (+ 0.5, -1.0 Gm.)
Size D- 15 Oz. (+ 0.5, -1.5 Gm.)
Type II- Liquid
Size E- 1- Gallon
Size F- 5- Gallons
Size G- 55- Gallons
Salient characteristics.
Types I and II shall conform to the requirements of AMS 1476, Deodorant, Aircraft Toilet.
CERTIFICATION. The contractor shall certify that the product offered meets the salient characteristics of this description and that the product conforms to the producer’s own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices and is the same product offered for sale in the commercial marketplace. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance before first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract. Small business that cannot offer products with established commercial market acceptability may complete by the submission of a bid sample.
