4.3 In-process inspection. Inspection shall be made of the following operations or
assemblies to establish conformance to specified requirements. Whenever non-conformance is
noted, correction shall be made to the items affected and to the operation. Items that cannot be
corrected shall be removed from production.
a. Batch mix composition formulation complies with 3.2.
b. Workmanship complies with 3.6.
4.4 End item conformance inspection. Inspection shall be made of the end item for the
requirements specified in 4.4.1 and 4.4.2.
4.4.1 End item visual examination. The end item shall be examined for the defects listed
in table III. The lot size shall be expressed in units of filled bags. The sample unit shall be one
filled bag.
